Say Yes to New Beginnings

"And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight inside the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”- Anais Nin

I would say it has been a long time coming. With steps forward and backwards. Feeling the for new territory and retreating to the familiar and supposedly safer. Would I have done things differently if knew then what I know now?

Perhaps, but a lot has been learned and clarified on the journey. I first came to South Padre Island 7 years ago. Wow. That has been a lot of time wondering in the abyss. I have grown. I have come to understand the people in my life more and the roles they play. It has not always been easy. But I am happy to be in my natural habitat of palm trees and ocean play.

What have I learned:

Sometimes we just have to learn to nourish ourselves while we find our way along and wait for a season of growth and blooming.

Sometimes we have to brave enough to start all over again. To not just keep doing what does not ultimately satisfy us. Or continue on with the status quo and what other people expect you to do.

It does take sacrifices. It most likely will take falling and getting up again. Evaluating what you have learned. Adapting and trying a new approach.

Ultimately it all begins with acceptance of what is. If you are busy fighting against reality, you are only driving yourself crazy and getting nowhere. Acceptance does not mean not changing. Rather is allows for the space necessary to change.
